Our story so far
For over four decades, Dane Nebel's Tennis Academy has been a home for players chasing their best game — from first swing to national titles.

25 students, one coach, and a big idea
In 1988, Dane Nebel started coaching a small group of 25 students at Liston. The mission was simple then and it's simple now — to make quality tennis coaching accessible to every player, regardless of where they start or how far they want to go.
More than four decades later, DNTA has grown into one of Melbourne's western-suburbs coaching institutions — but the heart of it has never changed. Every session, every drill, every Saturday morning is still about the player in front of us.
Every player deserves quality coaching — regardless of where they live or how far they want to go.— DANE NEBEL, FOUNDER
A look back at what we've achieved
From the first 25 students at Liston to national titles and a community over a thousand strong — here are the moments that shaped DNTA.
It all began at Liston
Dane Nebel starts coaching with a group of just 25 students at Liston. A small beginning, a big vision — quality tennis coaching for players of every level.
Victorian Premier League champions
Back-to-back Victorian Premier League Titles put DNTA firmly on the state map, with players representing the Academy at the highest levels of local competition.
ATL Victoria Conference Title
A stand-out season in the Australian Tennis League sees DNTA players claim the Victoria Conference, building momentum toward the national stage.
ATL National Title
DNTA reaches the top of the Australian Tennis League — a proud moment that reflects years of player development and team culture.
500+ students strong
From a roster of 25, DNTA grows into a community of more than 500 students across Melbourne's western suburbs — with 100+ juniors playing competition weekly.
A home for 1000+ players
Four venues, a dedicated coaching team, and hundreds of families who choose DNTA as their preferred coach. The story keeps growing — one player at a time.
Players we've helped shape
DNTA alumni have gone on to compete and win at the very highest levels of the sport.
Wimbledon Men's Singles Runner-Up
A DNTA-coached player went on to contest the Wimbledon Men's Singles Final — one of the proudest chapters in the Academy's history.
Australian Open Men's Doubles Quarter-Finalist
Another DNTA alum reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open Men's Doubles — a home Grand Slam moment for the whole DNTA community.
Four decades of impact
More than a tennis academy — a community
Tennis has given us so much, and we've always believed the right thing to do is give back. DNTA stays actively involved in community fundraisers — donating racquets, running clinics, and supporting local causes across Melbourne's west.
A high percentage of our members choose DNTA as their preferred coach — not because of marketing, but because of the culture that's been built one court, one family, one season at a time.
