Tennis in Schools Programs in Melbourne's West

DNTA partners with primary and secondary schools to make quality tennis coaching accessible during the school day and beyond. Our coaches deliver structured, inclusive sessions that suit school facilities, student ages, class sizes and learning objectives.

Flexible delivery for your school community

A school does not need dedicated tennis courts to introduce the sport effectively. Portable nets, modified balls and adaptable activities allow our coaches to create useful sessions on hard courts, multipurpose areas and indoor spaces. Programs can support physical education, sport rotations, special activity days or before-and-after-school participation.

Lessons are planned around the students in front of us. Younger groups focus on fundamental movement, tracking, striking and cooperative play. Older or more experienced students develop rally skills, serves, scoring and tactical awareness. Activities are progressive, active and designed to include students who may never have held a racquet.

Experienced coaching with a clear pathway

DNTA has coached players across Melbourne’s western suburbs for more than four decades. Our school sessions emphasise safety, clear communication, fair play and achievable challenges. Teachers receive a practical program that is easy to coordinate, while students gain a positive introduction to a sport they can continue for life.

When students want to keep playing, DNTA can connect families with suitable participation, competition or holiday programs at nearby venues in Point Cook, Werribee, Sunshine North and Melton. Schools can contact us to discuss year levels, student numbers, preferred dates, available spaces and the delivery format that best fits their timetable.

Planning a program for your school

A useful proposal starts with the practical details: year levels, approximate participant numbers, lesson length, available court or play space and the school’s preferred term or dates. DNTA can then recommend a format, equipment plan and progression suited to the setting. Programs may be delivered as a short introduction or a sequence of lessons that develops skills over time.
